Why completing this challenge?

Macro Photography is the term to define close-up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than in real life.

The ratio of the subject size on the sensor to the actual subject size is known as the reproduction ratio. Likewise, a macro lens is classically a lens capable of reproduction ratios of at least 1:1 (That means that the subject shows the same size in the sensor than in the real life)although it often refers to any lens with a large reproduction ratio, despite rarely exceeding 1:1, although there are lenses that can reach 5:1 ratio or even more.

Anyway it is possible to reach this ratio using other elements like reversing rings, bellows, close up lenses or extension tubes

In this world, sometimes is very difficult to pay attention to the details, but there is a little world out there waiting to be discovered, look at the world throw your camera and experiment the beauty of the little things, you will be amaze of that tiny world.

Advice

A tripod is very recommended in macro photography, the depth of field is so narrow that just moving a few millimetres you will ruin your photo. For the same reason, you will need good light, you can use a flash if needed, better if you use it out of your camera. If you don't want to spend a lot of money in an expensive macro lens, try buying a cheap reverse ring, you will not believe what can you photograph inverting your old lenses...
